Living Islands works with local communities and stakeholders to identify gaps in knowledge that are not currently being addressed.

Collect the funds and support
We look for funding and support exclusively from universities and interest groups that support open research.

Recruit the researchers
We recruit researchers and students with an intrinsic interest in Micronesian issues.

Execute the project
Our research projects are typically executed in a combination of short and medium work visits to the Micronesian region, and follow-up work in the United States.

Publish the results
Living Islands’ focus on knowledge sharing means that all research conducted and produced under our name will be made available for free in the public domain.
