Today we participated in the Portland Clean Energy Funds meeting about support for the Pacific Islanders. Thank you to Oregon Food Bank for putting on this event.
This weekend we had the pleasure of visiting the Wind River Project, co-owned by Ryan, one of our Living Islands volunteers, to learn about Microgreens, Hydroponics, and food security for small communities. We were joined by some of our oldest supporters, former Board President Neil Berl and his wife Andrea. It was great to see them again.
Our long-term plan is to find funding to do this for the small communities in the outer atolls in Micronesia. The Wind River Project is pretty amazing and has a great model for almost complete self-sufficiency in a farming project.
